The glorious sun rose as usual...
The scene was like a splendid visual...
The cheerful birds were out for their dish...
And I set out on my boat to catch some fish!
That day, the sea was a bit rough...
The going too was pretty tough...
But I cast my net into the sea...
And whispered," Lovely fishes! Please come to me!"
And what a sight it was to see,
That all of them were listening to me!
I had never caught so many in my life!
I couldn’t wait to cut them up with my knife!
I dreamt of all the money I would make...
And thought of giving Bevan, my brother, a creamy cake!
So hauling the fishes onto the boat...
I returned home on a cheerful note...
But my hut was not where it should have been...
The tall coconut trees were nowhere to be seen!
"Bevan! My brother! Where are you? Bevan? Bevan?"
The waves replied, "Your brother has reached heaven!"
Much, Much later I learned that it was a tsunami...
Why did it take my brother and not me?
Within the blinking of an eye...
How and why did so many people die?
Comfort to the aching souls who shall supply?
Oh God! I am still waiting… for your reply…
